The Dream

You know the drill. If you had 100 million dollars, what would you do?

Here’s what I’ve figured out as of 8/23/2008.

In no specific order:

  • Quit my job. Duh.
  • Sell my house. Duh.
  • Help fulfill family members’ dreams (within reason).
  • Travel for at least 3 months of the year, every year.
  • Create a large scholarship program for hard-working students with a 3.5+ GPA and a household income less than $30,000.
  • Donate all earned interest on the 100 million dollars every year, plus some more as possible
  • Buy 50+ wooded acres somewhere with mild winters and 30 minutes from a city of at least 50,000 (perhaps near Asheville, NC).
  • Design and build a house on said land. House plans to include at least 3000sqft of shop space with a hydraulic lift for car work.
  • Buy an E30 BMW M3
  • Explore Wankel engines. Soft spot for the Mazda FC3S chassis RX-7.
  • Restore pre-1975 Volkswagen Beetle. Make it have fuel injection, electronic ignition control, and 300HP.
  • Do the same to a Volkswagen Type 3 “Squareback”.
  • Learn (or learn better): Electronics, welding, metal forming, composite laying, home eletrical wiring, photography, painting
  • Take the Accelerated Certification Program at EFI University.
  • Attend motorsports events around the world.
  • Pay $50,000 toward each friends’ mortgage. Once. In order to get them closer to financial freedom.
  • Buy a MIDI drum kit and learn to play the drums
  • Build a custom bicycle
  • Learn to play guitar
