Jessica and I decided we’d had enough consecutive nights watching the Olympics, so we fell back to our favorite low-cost activity: Arts and Crafts Night. After a quick trip to Michael’s for supplies, this is what I ended up making.

I’ve always been drawn to nice satellite and aerial imagery. Yesterday I came across Alexander Heilner’s aerial landscape photography on JPG Magazine’s website and then found his main website’s section on this work.

Helvetica on Google Video

I have no idea if it’s a legal upload that will last, but the 1.4 hour film Helvetica is up on Google Video. Watch it before it maybe ends up deleted.

Helvetica is a feature-length independent film about typography, graphic design and global visual culture.

Would you pay $5 for a full album in digital download form if it was available, legally, for free? That’s the question Trent Reznor wanted answered. The Saul Williams and Nine Inch Nails collaboration The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust was made available for download at 192kbps bitrate for free or at 320kbps bitrate for $5.

81.7% of the downloaders couldn’t be bothered to cough up $5. More info can be found at Ars Technica.

Learn Music Theory

I have struggled with this for quite awhile (due to poor effort on my part), but I may have another stab at it. Check out the downloadable version of the website in the Downloads section for offline learning.
