Quotes from my friend Jessica, Volume 1

Completely random. We get into my car and she says, “You smell like a boat.

There’s really not a lot to say about that one other than, “What the HELL?”

Me: “I want to see Children of Men.”
Jessica: “What’s that?”
Me: “It’s this movie set 1 generation in the future and women have lost the ability to become fertile. So, basically, everyone left knows they are the last generation and it becomes kind of a military state sort of environment, etc. It’s gotten amazing reviews from everywhere.”
Jessica: … first, an explanation… then the quote.

The thing to understand about this one is that she has decided (blanket-fashion) that she does not like any movies based in the future. Her immediate assumption about any future-based movie is that there are weird alien-human people and/or stupid cyborgs in it with strange forehead protrusions. She refuses to even consider watching the classic Sci-Fi movies of the last 30 years.

Jessica (semi-whining): “Are they dressed up in robot outfits?”

Yes, Jessica. They’re DRESSED UP in robot OUTFITS.

Do you people see what I am dealing with here? Serenity now!

well you do smell like a boat……..and don’t give me serenity know bullshit, you love me and are very amused by my weird comments. As far as the robots thing, I was just thinking about it….and if it is a movie, especially from a while ago, chances are the robots in it are, yes, actual people in ROBOT OUTFITS, so there….take that Patches and watch out for me, dressed as a robot coming to get you
