onethousandpaintings is an “art” series. Each of the 1000 pieces contains a hand-painted unique number 1 through 1000. Each number is painted only once, then sold. The price of a piece is 1000 - the number you request (500 = $500). There is a discount as well which is currently at 40%. As more paintings sell, the discount drops.

Sala, a young artist from Zurich, Switzerland is the person behind the project. From my incredibly basic calculations, he’s made at least $300,000.
