At the recommendation of two friends at different times, Messica and I have started our journey into the series commonly known as Seven Up. From Wikipedia:
Seven Up! is the first film in a popular documentary film series that follows the lives of fourteen British people from the age of seven to adulthood. The fourteen people chosen are of different races, genders, and socio-economic backgrounds. Every seven years, the documentarians reconnect with the subjects and catch up on their lives.
7 Plus Seven (age 14) is the follow-up to Seven Up, which was a bit confusing while tracking it down as it is the only one named something other than a number and the word “Up”. Searching for 14 Up will get you nowhere.
So far it’s interesting enough to recommend to anyone, even if only to see the drastic difference in the level of education going on by ages 7 and 14 in the UK compared to the USA. I think there are maybe 50 kids in the entire USA who are as thoughtful and articulate as most of the 7 year-olds in 7 Up.
We’re anxiously awaiting 21 Up from Netflix this week.
Piggyback-onto-post: iColorFolder for Windows is a neat tool that lets you colorize folder icons for easier location. I’m finding it very handy. Found at lifehacker.
