I volunteered some time yesterday to help paint some of the courts’ scoring lines with blacklight-reactive paint in preparation for First Night’s activities at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club. Aside from a sore elbow that I will surely get over (from leaning on the concrete), it was a nice therapeutic day in the sun and I met a few nice people in the process.
At 10 or so, some friends and I made it back there to actually play shuffleboard for the first time, after having the rules explained to us by one of the organizing volunteers (Hi Christine!). We all had a great time, and it was nice to kick my friend’s butt at it because he is so competitive.
Here is where you would normally see a link to pictures if my camera’s memory card wasn’t dead. Grr.
